Harold Calla, Chair announces appointment of CEO to First Nations Financial Management Board
WEST VANCOUVER, BC, April 15, 2008: - Mr. Harold Calla, Chair of the First Nations Financial Management Board (FNFMB) announced today the appointment of Andy Hoggarth as the Chief Executive Officer of the First Nations Financial Management Board.

"Mr. Hoggarth brings to the position extensive experience in financial, governance, regulatory, infrastructure development, government and executive management," said Mr. Calla. "I am confident that Mr. Hoggarth’s expertise will be of tremendous value to the FNFMB and the Canadian aboriginal community that the Board serves."

Prior to joining the FNFMB, Mr. Hoggarth was the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Corporate Services with the Peterborough Utilities Group. He was a Director with many organizations including the Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corporation; the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society; the Electricity Distributors Association of Ontario; and volunteered his time with many other local nonprofit community groups and industry associations.

Mr. Hoggarth is Ojibway and was an elected Councillor of the Kawartha Nishnawbe First Nations of Burleigh Falls, Ontario. He is a Certified General Accountant and a professional Director with credentials from the Institute of Corporate Directors. He obtained a Bachelor of Administration degree from Lakehead University in Thunderbay Ontario and has diplomas in Human Resources Management and Business Administration (Finance) from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough Ontario.

The FNFMB is one of four First Nation institutions created through the First Nations Fiscal and Statistical Management Act which came into force on April 1, 2006. This First Nation-led initiative established an institutional framework to provide First Nation governments with the practical tools available to other levels of government for modern fiscal and statistical management. These tools include an independent financial management assessment service and a bond financing regime.
